Chongqing Yitong University (formerly Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications College of Mobile Communication) was established in 2000.

The University has two campuses, Hechuan and Qijiang. The Hechuan Campus is located in Hechuan University Town, while the Qijiang Campus is situated in the Eastern New Town of Qijiang District, with a total enrollment of 41,030 students. In response to the needs of regional economic and social development and the talent requirements of the information industry chain, the University has built a disciplinary system with engineering as its mainstay, complemented by economics, management, arts, and other disciplines in coordinated development.

With the motto of “Fun Teaching&Learning, Creativity&Entrepreneurship,” the University is committed to building itself into a distinctive first‑class application‑oriented institution in China. It places students’ all‑round development at the core and has pioneered a talent development model known as the “Four‑in‑One (Professional Education, Liberal Arts & General Education, Business Education, and Holistic Education) and Residential College System.”

Chongqing Yitong University has consistently pursued an internationalization strategy. Following the joint education of the German Institute of Engineering with Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Germany, it has successively signed cooperation agreements with over ten universities in Germany, the United States, and other countries, extensively carrying out Sino‑foreign joint dual‑degree programs at both undergraduate and master’s levels.

Chongqing Yitong University has strengthened its international exchanges and cooperation, with six majors receiving ASIIN accreditation from Germany, and three majors obtaining ZEvA certification. (Data as of June 2026).
