On the afternoon of May 8, Chongqing College of Mobile Communication (CCMC) held the Internationalization Strategy Work Conference simultaneously at its Hechuan Campus and Qijiang Campus. The conference comprehensively reviewed the achievements of internationalization efforts in 2024 and rolled out the implementation plan for the New Era Internationalization Strategy 2.0.

Chaired by Vice President Zhang Yanxue, the event was attended by all university leaders, directors of secondary-level units, as well as representatives of advanced collectives and outstanding individuals in foreign affairs work.

At the outset of the conference, Wu Lijun, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, delivered a work summary report on the university’s internationalization efforts in 2024. She pointed out that over the past year, the university has achieved sustained development and fruitful results in the field of international exchange and cooperation, with remarkable progress in several key areas: improving the quality and efficiency of Sino-foreign cooperative education, making breakthroughs and taking a leading position in international program accreditation, and advancing the construction of international exchange platforms with remarkable effectiveness.
These efforts have contributed to the optimization of the faculty structure, breakthroughs in teaching reform, and enhancement of intercultural communication capabilities. Meanwhile, the reach of brand activities and digital publicity has been expanded, and the institutional and service systems have been refined. However, challenges such as inefficient coordination mechanisms still exist. Moving forward, the focus will be on optimizing and improving the overall coordination efficiency of internationalization work.

Zhou Wei, Executive Vice President, read out the Notice of Chongqing College of Mobile Communication on Establishing the Internationalization Strategy Leading Group. He announced the establishment of the Internationalization Strategy Leading Group, with President Lü Yi and Secretary of the Party Committee He Xianggang as group leaders. The group’s three core tasks were clarified as follows: first, to conduct top-level design of the strategic framework, focus on global educational trends and national policy orientations, and formulate the Implementation Plan for Internationalization Strategy 2.0 that aligns with the university’s development; second, to integrate internal and external resources, unblock the linkage channels between discipline construction, faculty exchange, student training and international cooperation projects, and build a diversified and coordinated development pattern; third, to enhance brand influence, strengthen the university’s voice in the global education field by building international academic platforms and fostering characteristic exchange programs.
President Zhou emphasized that the establishment of the leading group marks a crucial stage for the university’s internationalization strategy to improve quality and efficiency. Moving forward, adhering to the principles of "high-position planning, high-efficiency execution, and high-standard risk control", the university will promote breakthrough progress of Strategy 2.0 in talent training, scientific research cooperation, cultural communication and other fields, providing organizational guarantee and action support for building "China’s most respected international university".

Zhang Yanxue interpreted the core framework of Strategy 2.0. He emphasized that the core framework takes "building a benchmark international university in China" as its vision, and regards Sino-foreign cooperative education (including undergraduate double-degree programs and direct undergraduate-to-master’s programs) as the "dual-core engine". It focuses on three key tasks: serving the talent training in the information industry, enhancing brand influence, and supporting the opening-up of inland education. Meanwhile, nine strategic initiatives are deployed. With "dual-core drive" as the key focus, the framework balances short-term breakthroughs and long-term construction, aiming to promote the transformation of the university’s internationalization from scale expansion to quality improvement and provide a demonstration path for the opening-up of inland education.

During the exchange session, participants spoke enthusiastically, engaging in in-depth discussions on hot topics such as the construction of an international curriculum system, the recruitment and training of international students, and the expansion of international cooperation projects, and actively put forward suggestions for the university’s international development.
In his concluding speech, He Xiangang affirmed the contributions of the advanced collectives and individuals in foreign affairs work, emphasizing that internationalization is an inevitable choice for national strategy, local development and the university’s transformation. He pointed out that advancing Strategy 2.0 requires grasping three key points: first, unifying thinking and raising awareness; second, promoting the high-quality development of the local economy; third, popularizing the educational system and models. He stressed that through joint efforts and by clarifying responsibilities and obligations, Chongqing College of Mobile Communication will develop into a first-class application-oriented private university with distinct characteristics and a high level of internationalization.

The successful holding of this conference has gathered strong synergy and clarified the direction for advancing the university’s internationalization strategy. From the global perspective of the faculty team to the international standards of talent training, from the global layout of cooperation platforms to the international dissemination of brand value, every step of CCMC’s exploration demonstrates the innovative vitality of private education. Moving forward, the university will continue to be guided by the mission of "building a benchmark international university in China" and contribute the wisdom and strength of private universities to promoting the modernization of Chinese education.
