On October 29th, Huangjueshu Square at Hechuan Campus, the International Education Week themed "Crossing Mountains and Seas, Forging a Brighter Future" kicked off grandly here. University leaders, faculty, and student representatives, as well as guests from overseas partner institutions around the world, gathered to witness the opening of this grand international education event.

At the opening ceremony, faculty and student representatives shared their insights and expectations for international education from diverse perspectives.
Mu Chunjiang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee and Director of the College Residential College Department, reviewed the solid progress of the university’s international education initiatives. He noted that to cultivate high-caliber talents with a global vision, the university has launched the distinctive Undergraduate-Postgraduate International Program, paving a smooth path for students to pursue master’s degrees at world-renowned universities.
He further emphasized that the Youth League Committee and Residential College Department have actively advanced internationalization efforts, encouraging teachers and students to seize overseas exchange opportunities to broaden their global outlook, and empowering all Yitong students to become competitive talents on the global stage.

Luo Hongbo, a student representative of the 2025 cohort from the Institute of International Education, took the stage with sincere and powerful words. As a new student, he felt the international atmosphere inside and outside the classroom and expressed great anticipation for the upcoming Education Week activities. “The garden party, world-renowned university lectures, IELTS experience classes... These activities are not just simple ‘check-ins’, but ‘growth ladders’ tailored by the university for us,” he said. Mr. Steven, a foreign teacher from the Institute of International Education and a former IELTS examiner, also shared a unique international perspective. With an engaging speech, he started with the challenges new college students may face, pointing out that "daring to express oneself" is more important than perfect grammar. He shared a case of a candidate who gave up studying abroad due to communication barriers, profoundly elaborating on the key significance of daring to ask questions and not fearing mistakes for cross-cultural growth.
